Turning a tired 1970s kitchen into a calm, light-filled space is no small task, but Becky’s beautiful kitchen makeover shows just how transformative thoughtful design can be. What was once dark and dated is now a bright, inviting open-plan kitchen and dining area that feels effortlessly modern yet warmly welcoming.
Becky’s Kitchen Makeover
We have been renovating a dated 1970s property for the past few years. It’s a difficult task living in a renovation! When it came to the kitchen, we wanted to open up three areas to create a large, bright, functional open-plan kitchen-dining area.

We have done most of the work ourselves, including designing and fitting the kitchen. The choice of flooring was important to me. I needed it to tone with the kitchen but also flow with the colour theme of the adjoining lounge.
After lots of samples, I felt the Zett Ivory Rustic floor tile was perfect, as it had a mottled effect that tied the kitchen and lounge together flawlessly. It brightens the area and has the added bonus of being non-slip, all at an affordable price. I love it so much, I want to continue it down into the entrance hall in the future.

How to Achieve the Look
If you’re planning your own kitchen makeover, Becky’s design is full of inspiration. The Zett Ivory Rustic Tiles add a soft, natural feel to the space, blending beautifully with creamy cabinetry and warm wood tones.
Made from durable porcelain with precision-cut rectified edges, these tiles create a sleek, seamless finish that’s ideal for open-plan layouts. Their gentle matt sheen and subtle colour variation bring texture and depth, adding understated elegance to both modern and rustic interiors.

Practical, timeless, and effortlessly stylish, the Zett Ivory Rustic Tile proves that the right flooring can truly transform the heart of your home.
