Designing our Grey Kitchen Renovation
Our grey kitchen renovation involved a large double-storey side extension to our home. From the beginning, our vision was to design a modern, open-plan kitchen diner that was both spacious and inviting. We aimed to combine highly polished tiles with a matt kitchen finish to achieve a contemporary and cohesive look.
We wanted this family room to become the heart of our home, a welcoming space where everyone can gather comfortably. It needed to be functional for hosting dinner parties and ideal for spending quality time with friends and family.
We knew from the start we wanted large, polished tiles to add light and space, balanced by the warmth of a matt kitchen finish. After searching around, we discovered Direct Tile Warehouse, who had a branch near us in Cardiff. It turned out you were the only place where I could find the exact shade of grey I had in mind. The choice was fantastic, and the prices were so competitive compared to other retailers, which was a huge bonus!
In the end, we chose the Midas Porcelain Pearl Grey Gloss tiles. Theyโre lovely and big, which really suits our spacious floor plan, and the neutral grey shade fits perfectly with our vision.
The service from Direct Tile Warehouse was fab from start to finish. Out of a large order, we only had one box of broken tiles, which is understandable given the size and quantity, but they were replaced quickly and without hassle. I also loved being able to order free tile samples beforehand, which really helped me decide.
Six months on, the tiles still look great, even with daily use and cleaning. We absolutely love the finished resultโit feels modern, welcoming, and exactly what we hoped for.
